Submission Requirements

Please make sure your manuscript is ready for submission, meaning that it is at the fully-edited stage. With our Gold and Platinum package, we require your manuscript to be ready for publication, however we do a final proofread during the galley/formatting stage to make sure before proceeding. Also, please keep in mind that we are not a vanity press, we are a hybrid press, which means we do not accept all manuscripts submitted to us. We will vet your submission, which usually takes 1-3 weeks. Please fill out all areas below and upload a query letter, synopsis, and the first 50 pages only. If we are interested, we may request the full manuscript or YOU may request a phone appointment before we send you the contract.

For the Diamond Audiobook Package, you may select this as an addendum to the Gold or Platinum Package, or select it as the only package if you are interested in producing your novel in audiobook form. You do not have to be a Historium Press author to have our collaborating production company produce, market & distribute your audiobook. If you select this package, please submit the first 15 pages of your manuscript.

All contracts are sent through the secured server at Docusign, and packages paid through our invoicing server at The Historical Fiction Company. Full payment is required unless prior arrangements are made via phone. We accept all credit cards, bank transfer, or Paypal.

At Historium Press, our submissions process is a two-tiered process which gives you feedback to get your project ready for publication—from reviewers who are in the business, as well as our internal editorial staff. If your novel is ready, we’ll give you the go ahead. If it is not ready, the evaluation will detail weaknesses and suggest the next steps to ensure a quality manuscript.

Before submitting to Historium Press, please read about how our process works.

We are committed to bringing quality projects into the marketplace. Once you submit your manuscript below, you will receive an email confirmation that your submission has been received. Please allow four to six weeks for a response.

Again, please review this page for a detailed outline on how our two-part publishing process works.

If we determine that your manuscript is ready for publication, our Editor-in-Chief will email you with an acceptance letter and to discuss the Historium Press contract which includes all the details of either the Gold Hybrid or Platinum Hybrid Publishing. Contracts will be sent out via Docusign after the author selects a marketing plan. Please review each model before proceeding so you will understand the process of our publishing house. Once the contract is signed, an invoice will be sent for the plan.

Please note: we are currently four to six months out on publishing, which is a quick timeline for most publishers (the big 5 take up to 2 years... yes, really!) We have a relatively fast turn-around but we still take the time to ensure that your manuscript is given the focused attention it needs, because we feel that the effort brings forth quality, and quality brings success.

If we determine that your manuscript needs a bit more work, we will give you feedback and a recommendation for what your next steps should be. If we deem it needs more work, you are welcome to review our Bronze Editing Package.

Common font (Times; Times New Roman; Georgia)
12-point font size
Page numbers included
